Programme Planning and Individual Learning Portfolios
Every child who attends The Treehouse on Ranolf has their own individual profile book. In these books we document your child’s individual learning journey. At The Treehouse we believe that learning has to begin with the child’s interests as being interested in learning motivates us to learn more. Teachers use learning stories to recognise, respond and reflect on your child’s current understandings, ideas and interests. We then plan possible learning pathways that your child may take; these respond to and extend your child’s current understandings. Your Key Person will be the primary person responsible for this folder, however other teachers will contribute as well. When you leave The Treehouse, the folder will be yours to take with you.
Parent Contribution
We invite parents to be involved in the programme planning process through:
- Parents voices. We enjoy hearing your comments about the work we do with the children. We will always be avaliable to explain any questions you may have.
- Input into your child’s portfolio. Children love to decorate their own book covers with their families at home. This builds your child’s sense of ownership for their portfolio, and also shows your child that you value their learning.
- Programme planning is attractively displayed in both the under and over two areas. Children take great pride in showing their work to parents.
